The Mankato Free Press published a retrospective article March 5, 2018, "Mankato site of state's showtime public vo-tech," that provides a brief historical sketch for what is at 1 time South Central College.
The establishment was founded inwards 1946 equally Mankato Vocational School, the showtime public, post-secondary vocational-technical schoolhouse inwards the state. The cite modify inwards 1989 to Mankato Technical College. It merged inwards 1992 to larn Albert Lea-Mankato Technical College. Three years later on it joined MN State Colleges together with Universities System inwards 1995. Following realignment, it joined amongst the Faribault campus of what had formerly been MN Riverland Technical College to larn South Central Technical College. The cite was changed inwards 2005 to South Central College.
